Effective red and near infrared light therapy requires very specific wavelengths of light, specifically 660 nanometers which is red light and 850 nanometers which is near infrared light. Over 3,000 published studies have shown these two specific wavelengths to have the greatest biological impact on the cells of the human body. Red light is best for superficial skin treatments, as it does not have the ability to penetrate quite as deeply as near infrared light. Near infrared light is best for treating deep tissues such as joints, muscles, and even the brain, because of its ability to penetrate deeper into the human body.

The BEST quality at most affordable price out there!
One of the best things I have found on Amazon! FIRST OF ALL, when buying on Amazon (and if looking for a quality product) ALWAYS check the seller’s information before buying. Go to “sold by” and check for their detailed information. If you see a business address in China, the quality is compromised! You don’t know what you are buying despite the claims the seller makes – no warranties beyond what it takes to actually see the results, no directions, no recommendations or safety manuals, no certificates/proofs guaranteeing the strength of the red light or anything else other than words to show that the product does have the clinical strength of a red light needed for it to be effective. You are basically buying a cat in a bag! This is when you want to go with a reputable and well established company like Hooga! I decided to go for a light bulb because it’s so compact to easily travel with. You can use it anywhere from head to toe at a close range…..eyesight, hair, muscle aches, menstrual cramps, joint pain, inflammation, wrinkles, acne…… For those who don’t know…how far away from the device you are determines its effectiveness. That’s why sitting two or even more feet away under a big panel really won’t do much for you no matter how great it feels as the intensity drops down significantly. The great advantage of this light bulb is that it can be handheld directly (ideally 6-12 inches for best results) over an affected area providing more effective and faster results. It can also be plugged into any regular lamp which is awesome. Do your research on how red light therapy actually works before buying. There are many gimmicky products out there that are actually more expensive than this one!

Affordable RLT option, use with swivel lamp!!
I’ve been interested in trying RLT for a long time to improve my skin but didn’t want to invest a ton of money upfront before being able to test if it works. I did a lot of research and landed on this Hooga RLT bulb.The specs all land where they are supposed to and this bulb is very affordable. It also provides great flexibility in regards to how and where you install it for ease and comfort during sessions. It comes with light blocking goggles too! Plus a lamp connection plug in if you want to use it handheld.I purchased an inexpensive swing arm lamp stand that clamps onto my corner table (bedside table, wherever). Just make sure the lamp is compatible with the bulb size! The arms swivels all around so I can adjust it easily (think dentist lamp manuverability hahaha). I can lay on my couch comfortably and shine the lamp dirrectly into my face at whatever distance I desire.I like this option over a mask as they can feel claustrophobic. You can also sit up and shine it on your face while you sit. Having the bulb really increases your options while not reducing functionality. The bulb itself is well made and durable.I’ve done 15 minute sessions 3-5/weeks for several months and I definitely see that my skin is brighter. It helps heal my skin faster when I have blemishes or irritation. I really love it! I’m interested in trying the multicolor bulb for skincare now! The good thing about the red is that it can also be used to target areas for pain relief. So versatile at a great price!!

I like the build quality but so far my joint pain has not lessened
I can say that it seems to be a well built and quality item. I like the fabric cord because it’s nice and flexible. Everything works fine and I found that the bulb itself will fit into a gooseneck lamp that I own so sometimes I do put the bulb in there and use it that way. I cannot say it’s helping my joint pain, my hands from arthritis and my ankle from an old injury. I’ve been using it 15 minutes on these areas every other day, it’s been a couple of weeks but I can’t say I’ve noticed anything different about joint pain in these spots.

Affordable, effective, portable light therapy for all.
I am a big fan of light therapy. I have a near infrared sauna, red lasers, near-infrared panel, and now a multi-light bulb that provides red, blue, green and near infrared frequencies. I know my way around this approach to wellness.I like how convenient these Hooga bulbs are to handle and use because they are smaller in size than other things out there and are so portable. I can easily take it with me or to a friend’s house for their emergency situations. I keep this plugged in next to my bed so that I have no excuse not to use it regularly.This kind of red light is not considered hazardous to eyes and so goggles are not necessary but are included with this bulb and may make it more comfortable for those who are sensitive to light. Do NOT confuse this red light with a red LASER. That IS hazardous to the eyes. Never, NEVER look at a red laser. This bulb is NOTa laser.Some of the lights may not appear to be lit. This is NOT a defect. Red near-infrared light is not visible to the human eye, but they are firing nonetheless. Reviews saying something else are written by uninformed people. The light is working properly if three of the lights appear unlit.I prefer the manufacturer spend his energies on making a quality light and not in providing a stand. A simple gooseneck light can be purchased by anyone separately according to individual needs. More professional stands for therapy are also out there for purchase. This makes the bulb itself an affordable entry-level purchase by nearly anyway wanting to explore light therapy without bundling extra things with it, thereby raising the price.I purchased a multi-bulb to get the benefits of the other color frequencies in one treatment. I feel the human body is so brilliantly designed that it knows how to pick and choose what it needs since humans do not really know the all the benefits of any one color. Rather than guess wrong, I just use all of the colors in the multi-bulb for this reason.I bought one for my business partner since we do alternative health research and are always on the lookout for different modalities to explore. He is as blown away by how effective this muscle tests as I am. We also shine it into our purified drinking water since water so effectively and efficiently holds energy and light is energy. A lot of research has been done on this so do some reading. Just shine your light for about 5 seconds on your purified water. This is one reason we like the multi bulb. We are infusing different color frequencies all at once. What possible benefit could there be? No one really knows but there is no harm in doing this and it just might have undiscovered positive benefits.I am happy to add this to my light spa in my house. No need to go out for these treatments. No need for those scary masks that can do just your face and nothing else. Light therapy can be done very effectively and conveniently at home with an affordable Hooga bulb.
