No. This is a phototherapy lamp that does not require installation and is integrated. The internal structure is greatly enhanced by 302 LED beads, emitting full-spectrum light, not an ordinary light bulb.
Does this have to be set at the brightest setting to get the full 10,000 LUX intensity?
Yes, it does need to be set to the brightest setting to provide good results. It is recommended to set it to the highest setting when using it for phototherapy.

I’ve bought this lamp for a little while now and I really like it. Dimmable, touch base, & remote
Love these little lamps. Perfect table lamp size – just about an inch taller than a sheet of printer paper) it has 3 types of light NW, CW and WW 1st pic WW 2nd pic CW. Has a remote that dims or brightens more than the touch base. Has a timer for 10,30,60 or 90 min. Looks good. Teenager said looked like a hotel lamp. We like it.The C charging port in the base did not charge an iPhone.IF YOU BUY TWO this could be a downside for some: We bought two one on each side of living room, my husband turned his light off, mine turned off too! It turned in to a hilarious light war from our recliners because they are on the same frequency. I shut mine off with the base so then one would turn on and the other off with remote. we can always unplug from back if it stops being funny and gets annoyingAll in all we like them, plus we get a laugh from the same frequency remotes. Light and laughter who could ask for anything more lol.

I bought this a year ago, and I’m happy to say, it’s still in use during overcast days, particularly in the winter. I love the remote that allows me set brightness with a click. Also, it looks like an attractive mini-lamp.

Very Welcoming
As design friendly as it gets. Stylish but still at a value price, the Farrier lamp glows top and all the way around. Very nice addition to my standing desk and keeps the room feeling cozy. If you think you might need a therapy lamp, then I suggest exactly this. No cons and all pros. In the description you’ll get a fairly good idea of the different modes but most importantly is the battery included remote control so right when I wake up I can set the morning mood from bed.
