Good TENS style pain management.
BOTTOM LINE:1. I recommend this Crampology-Pink-Period Cramps Pain Relief Device-PMS TENS Unit.2. The current price of ~$55 is reasonable.LIKES:- Multiple ways to connect using the butterfly or separate pads.- Rechargeable.- Easy to wear and isn’t obvious under clothing.- TENS might not be your thing, but if it is, you will probably like this.DISLIKES:- None.

TENS unit for cramping
TENS unit marketed for cramps but it’s still a TENS unit. I’ve used several units before and I require a high setting. This doesn’t seem to get high enough to be effective for me. It’s a personal thing. Others may be more sensitive. The butterfly and flower shape is unique and fit well over the abdomen area. Can use wired or wirelessly.

Not strong enough for me
As a TENS unit, this Crampology unit is quaint in its design, in that I like pink, and I like butterflies. However, from a functionality standpoint, it’s simply not strong enough, nor are the included pads large enough to make much difference for me when I’m really paining from cramps and back spasms. The pads included are 2 butterflies—as the product pics display—and 2 small flowers, accompanied by a long cord connector, and a short cord connector, with the primary control unit. While you can connect both small flowers to the control unit at the same time, that’s it…you can’t also connect both butterflies. It would have been nice if the unit included a splitter for ability to connect 4 pads vs. 2/3 at a time – but I imagine that would also require stronger output from the unit if splitting the signal in 4 vs. 2/3. Additionally, all of the pads should be larger to cover more skin in my opinion. As it stands, with the butterflies, the signal is most concentrated in the middle and can scarcely be felt in the outer wing areas of the butterfly…so, again, cute design, but not practical in my personal experience. It has 6 different modes (pressing the main power button cycles through the modes), though I couldn’t really tell much difference between them; one is supposed to be a ‘kneading’ action, and it didn’t feel like that at all to me. The strength of any mode can be increased via the +/- buttons on the control unit. Overall, I can appreciate what Crampology was going for with this unit, it just doesn’t fully deliver for someone like me that really needs something more powerful when dealing with severe period cramps and back pain.

Nicely designed
This TENS unit nicely provides more than one option for taking advantage of the electric-stim that it provides. I like that the “butterfly“ option can conveniently be used without having to deal with any wires at all, by just attaching the small battery-disc to the silicone pad and positioning it where desired for the treatment. Though marketed for cramps in the abdominal area, we are sometimes using it also for the upper back/lower neck area. It’s nice to have the additional option of using two smaller silicone pads (wire needed for this option). The battery disc is easily charged by USB, and has a simple control for the intensity and desired mode. There is an element of inconvenience if using the butterfly option on the back as there is no remote control; It’s very helpful to have a partner who can see and reach the disc for this scenario. Expanding the lifetime of the device, a second set of silicone pads is nicely provided, as well as a small thin plastic board onto which the butterfly pad can be nicely stored when not in use. All functions as described, and it appears as though both thought and care went into the design and manufacture of this piece.

Needs easy access to replacement pads
So, this is a basic TENS unit that’s designed and marketed for menstrual cramp relief. As a TENS unit, it works well and for some it can be a huge benefit. The unit itself works great and the pain relief works decently for me, though I’ve been finding more relief by natural lotions containing in ingredients that help, which I won’t go into here. I like the different modes, but wish that there was some sort of indicator showing which mode you’re on.The design and packaging is cute and well done, but the huge drawback to this unit is that replacement pads aren’t readily available, making this useless after a few uses, unless you look to other branded replacement pads with snaps, though you need to ensure that you purchase pads with the correct sized snaps. This is really only a solution for the other pads, though-there still is no good replacement for the main, butterfly-shaped pad. For this reason I’m giving it a one-star rating. If they come out with replacement pads, then my rating would change to 4.5 stars.

It’s a basic TENS unit with a fancy butterfly and flowers
I’ve been using a TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) unit for my neck and back pain ever since my new chiropractor used one on me before every adjustment. This works as well as the TENS unit I already have at home. The biggest difference that I could see is that, when the pads stop sticking, I was unable to find replacements that are so easily available with my other TENS unit. That’s a deal breaker for me.
