Everyone should have one of these!
This really helps with seasonal depression and just getting out of bed in general when it’s gloomy or really early. This is very bright but doesn’t generate a lot heat like some other lights have. It’s pretty sturdy and can be put in many positions. This isn’t heavy but I wouldn’t say it’s lightweight enough to carry anywhere. I can easily carry this in a tote bag but wouldn’t being it back and forth to and from the office on a regular basis.

90% improvement in my 45 year battle with insomnia!
I have other reviews regarding products for insomnia. For those who suffer with it , we know how torturous a condition it can be. For the last decade I was determined to find, if not a “cure,” a way to manage my insomnia and not rely upon prescriptions to stay asleep. It has been a lengthy journey, with lots of trial and error. I use all the following elements daily. Perhaps someday I’ll be able to cut down on some of them, but not yet. BTW, I am 72 years old:1. First I took a course in CBT insomnia therapy (I took it on line – there are probable several available, but mine was called Shut-i) to verify my specific vulnerabilities. My insomnia is linked to circadian rhythm and keeping proper sleep- hygiene. So I try to go to sleep and arise at the same time each day, give or take about 30 minutes.2. My problem is staying asleep, not falling asleep, so I eventually found a melatonin product (at Amazon) with a delayed action. 10 mg is my nightly dosage.3. My physician suggested that I add glycine (2000 mg – purchased on Amazon) at night as well. I don’t know how big a part of the picture this is, as it is the most recent addition, and I haven’t withdrawn it and then replaced it (my n=1 test for efficacy). These are not pharmaceuticals; were the house to catch fire in the middle of the night I could still function and get out. So I don’t consider either glycine or melatonin “drugs.”4. In 2019 I bought Pegasi Smart Light Therapy glasses (also on Amazon), and found them to be extremely helpful (see my review of them).5. I found a YouTube video put out by Dr. Seheult called Light as Medicine. Most of this 2 hour lecture is about Vitamin D, but part of it in the second hour explains the mechanisms of melatonin production, which I found helpful.6. So I upped my light game from the Pegasi glasses and purchased a 10,000 Lux portable Sun Lamp (purchased on Amazon – I have the TheraLite because it fit my space best). I use this every morning using Dr. Seheult’s recommendations regarding distance and light angle.7. I had been using BluBlox glasses for quite a while (yes – Amazon again) at night as well, but Dr. Seheult’s lecture made me think this wasn’t quite enough. Bringing me to this light bulb. I have been using it now for about one month. I use it for two hours each evening, with and without the BluBlox. I haven’t refined this part yet. But for the past month I stay asleep for the most part. Most nights I do get up to use the bathroom once. Maybe I will be able to reduce that as well.8. The final part is exercise. I find I have to do something every day without fail, to some standard of fatigue. Either treadmill, or weights, kettlebell, or, just now, several hours of physical labor like gardening. or clearing my cellar of junk. If I unfortunately have a day where I am sedentary, I will have to rely upon my old medication. This is often telegraphed by “restless leg syndrome” just before bedtime. I will, in fact, hit the treadmill at a very slow pace at night if I feel like this. Doesn’t get my heartrate up, but it somehow helps with my restlessness. So that’s my schedule and my current product and behavior modification list. I used to belong to an insomnia group on FB, but nobody wanted to modify their behavior – they mostly just wanted to take a pill, so I don’t belong to those groups any more.My insomnia is probably 90% better. Since putting this program in place, I have taken meds once to stay asleep. Just prior to putting the last piece into place (two hours of dim light), I was up every night for an hour or more. I’ve had insomnia for so long I can tell at the outset of the night when this program is going to fail me. It is a delicate dance, and perhaps someday I’ll be able to relax parts of it. But this WORKS for me.

Northeast is DREARY! We needed this!
We have been living in a gray, rainy winter. In fact summer, fall, winter, spring! Aside from vitamin D felt the need to supplement. My son was really feeling the effects. This light is great. WAY brighter than an LED light…and different. Feels like pure sunshine.

I Measured LUX
I’m not saying this is true for every single lamp of this style, I’m sure there is some variation, but I measured the lux of mine with a lux meter and these were the results (inches from light):9″ ~10,000 lux10″ ~9,000 lux11″ ~7,500 lux12″ ~6,500 lux14″ ~5,000 lux

Works perfect for SAD
Within a week of using this device I already feel loads better. Actually, within 5 days of using it I began feeling much better. As a Texan who moved to the Pacific NorthWest, I didn’t entirely believe that SAD was a thing, but oh my goodness it is. USE THIS LAMP, DON’T STAY IN DENIAL! I did quite a bit of research to find the cheapest lamp that could be farther away than 6″ and still work, and this one fit the bill. I use it for 30-45min every morning first thing after I make my coffee and breakfast, setting it on the armrest of my couch while I watch YouTube on my laptop. It is about 16″ away from my face depending on how hard I slouch (yes I measured it). Good luck and whatever you do, do indeed get one of these light therapy devices, it really does work! For reference, I began using this because I watched the TED talk on depression by Stephen Ilardi where he also gave other excellent advice. If you are here because of that reason I recommend the talk; he gives other very, very good advice I’d never heard before.

Not what Envisioned
Small and a bit flimsy but gets the job done. I should have paid more attention to the dimensions and not been so excited about the picture showing a streamlined product. Nevertheless, totally functional and not worth the time to send back to reach perfection

So worth it.
I live in the Midwest where you don’t see the sun for days at a time in the winter and it kills my productivity. So I finally bought a sunlamp and this thing has worked wonders!! It is VERY bright as other reviewers have said. I turn it away from my face and let the light diffuse against the wall. Even then just having some extra light in the room improves my mood and helps me focus on work.

Works perfect! Wish I purchased it sooner.
It’s wonderful and does exactly what it is supposed to do. I don’t understand why people are complaining about how bright it is. It’s supposed to be bright! You don’t even have to look at it, just let it shine on you while you’re drinking your morning coffee. A therapy lamp for seasonal affective disorder is supposed to be 10,000 LUX. Not sure how it would work if it was dimmer. I am guessing you would have to use it for a longer period of time. 30 minutes with this lamp in the morning and I’m good. Plus it folds up nice and neat for traveling. 🙂

It IS working. The item itself is intact and seems to be working fine. I’ve used it for a couple of days for 30 minutes without issue. But it arrived in used condition. The box was in bad shape, with evidence of a mailing sticker removed from the actual box. It didn’t have a manual, no plastic wrapping inside, the cord unwrapped, and worst of all, there was hair inside the box. When I pay for a new item, I expect it to be new.

Je l’utilise régulièrement depuis plus de 1 an. Bonne qualité prix

There are more expensive lights, with different settings, but this one setting light does the trick. I actually look forward to scrolling the news with my morning coffee as the light booms from the kitchen table. I would like a longer cord but other than that, the light travels to the cabin and hockey tournaments with ease.

Dejo de funcionar sin explicación. No hay forma de arreglarla.
